While it may be easy to just spend the day on the nearest beach during your stay, there are many more ways to appreciate the beauty of Ibiza’s magical coastline. Below you will find 5 tips to help you make the most of Ibiza’s coast and enjoy an unforgettable holiday on the island!

Visit Ibiza's Magical Coast

#1 Hire a Boat

One of the best ways to explore the glorious turquoise bays of Ibiza is by hiring a boat and charting your own course to its more secluded coves. You can drop anchor and relax on board in the sun with a cool drink or take a dip and snorkel in the island’s crystal-clear waters. CharterAlia is a great choice for boat hire as they have sailboats, catamarans, speed boats and yachts available with professional captains to ensure that you have the best possible experience. You can even hire the larger boats overnight or for the weekend and they are equipped with WiFi, Bluetooth speakers and snorkelling and paddleboard equipment. With advice from your local captain you will see the best sights along the coast and can even head to the nearby stunning island of Formentera. CharterAlia will ensure you have an unforgettable trip!

#2 Watch the Sunset

Ibiza has some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Mediterranean, with visitors gathering at the best spots across the island to see this stunning summer spectacle. Favourite spots include Cala Conta and San Antonio with its wonderful white sand beaches in the west of the island. A boat trip is also a fantastic way to avoid the crowds and get a more secluded view of brilliant yellows, oranges and reds as the sun descends into the sea. Whatever way you choose to experience Ibiza’s sunsets, you are sure to enjoy some breath-taking views!

#3 Snorkel at Cala Salada

What better way to experience the beauty of the Ibizan coast than a dive in the warm turquoise blue waters of the Mediterranean? The sea ranges from 14 to 28 degrees Celsius during the summer months and with the many idyllic coves to explore, it is the perfect place for a spot of snorkelling. The island has a rich marine environment with reefs and seaweed providing a superb habitat for a range of fish and sea mammals. Cala Salada is a great choice for snorkelling just north of San Antonio and is a small beach protected by pine forested hills. The orange rocky cliffs contrast starkly with the azure turquoise waters and make this an unforgettable setting for some coastal adventures! Combine it with a boat trip for a fantastic day out on the White Isle.

#4 Visit Parc Natural de Ses Salines

This World Heritage listed reserve is a unique natural paradise for a host of flora and fauna, including the iconic pink flamingo! The Parc Natural de Ses Salines is made up of marshes, salt pans, sandy beaches and pine forested cliffs, giving you plenty to explore on a day out. Part of it is the Trucador Peninsula, where you can find some of the island’s most spectacular white sand beaches – Platja Illetes and Platja Llevant. The two beaches snake along either side of the peninsula and have wonderful views over to neighbouring Formentera. Whether you want a day at the beach or want to spot some of the island’s unique wildlife, this Parc Natural is something not to be missed during your stay on Ibiza!

Beaches on Ibiza

#5 Relax at Benirràs Beach

This striking bay in the north of the island has the perfect beach on which to spend the day relaxing. You can grab a lounger and an umbrella, enjoy a cold drink and take in the stunning Ibizan coast all around you. You reach this wonderful bay via a picturesque winding road and are greeted by a pretty beach flanked by cliffs on either side. The bay is well known for its interesting rock formation, Cap Bernat, which is said to look like a praying nun or ancient goddess! If you want to visit, but don’t have a car, there is a public bus (L23) running regularly from Ibiza Town. The bus takes 45 minutes, but the reward of the pretty beach at the end is well worth the journey!
